How to prepare for a puppy or dog visit
A good visit gives you time to meet the dog, understand their home and ask thoughtful questions. Plan the checks before emotion takes over.

Bring the decision-makers
Where appropriate, bring every adult who shares responsibility and write down your questions. Tell the seller or rescue about children or resident animals rather than arranging an unsafe surprise introduction.

Watch before you handle
Observe the dog in the place they know. For puppies, watch the dam interact with the litter. Note breathing, movement, confidence, recovery and how the seller responds to the dogs.

Compare every detail
