How to spot a puppy farm in Ireland

A responsible puppy search includes a home visit, time with the dam and litter, and records that match the dog. These signs help you recognise when the reality does not match the advert.

   Walk away from delivery, car-park or service-station handovers—however reasonable the excuse sounds.

   For a puppy, see the whole litter interacting naturally with their dam where they were raised.

   Treat ‘another family is ready to pay’ as pressure, not a reason to send a deposit.

   Report changed addresses, multiple breeds, inconsistent records or a dam who is missing or unfamiliar with the puppies.
